WSSB Strategic Plan Feedback 2023

The Washington State School for the Blind (WSSB) will be updating our strategic plan and we would like your feedback.  Our vision for the future is, “Every blind and low vision student in Washington has the supports and services they need to succeed.”  WSSB’s mission is simply stated, “To empower blind and low vision individuals to reach their full potential.” Our work at WSSB is guided by our core values of being student-centered, equity focused, accessibility, relationships, and continuous improvement.

As you may know, WSSB provides a significant range of services and supports that include but are not limited to comprehensive middle and high school programs (day and residential) at our campus in Vancouver, short-term residential programs, residential summer programs for students and professionals, residential transition programs, outreach specialist services to support youth, birth to 21,  who are blind or low vision, DeafBlind outreach support, access to braille translation services and support available through the Ogden Resource Center, low vision optometric services on campus, and special opportunities such as our annual track and field day.

WSSB is committed to all blind and low vision children in Washington, not only those students who enroll in our campus programs or are served by one of our specialists. Please consider completing the following survey designed to gather feedback from you so that we can continue to improve.

The deadline to complete the survey is June 5.  Thank you!
