PURPOSE:

Document student meal program: prices, payments, free & reduced meals, direct certifications, notifications.

PRICES:

WSSB has three pricing categories:

  • Normal pay status
  • USDA reduced lunch status
  • USDA free lunch status

The pricing for these categories is subject to change, any inquiries should be directed to the Food Service Manager.

PAYMENTS:

Any lunch payments held by students or staff should be delivered to the business office without delay.  A receipt will be provided upon request.  Student lunch accounts are updated once per week.  WSSB reserves the right to withhold student’s records including grades, transcripts and diploma for students who have outstanding lunch account balances.

FREE & REDUCED MEALS:

Students may qualify for free or reduced priced lunches based on family size and income. The applications are provided to parents each year in WSSB’s registration packet and are always available on the school website.  Determinations are based on specific guidelines provided by the USDA.

DIRECT CERTIFICATION:

On a monthly basis, WSSB will conduct a Direct Certification process by searching the OSPI/DSHS database for participating families. No family action is required.

NOTIFICATIONS:

As a courtesy WSSB provides parents/guardians notification on a weekly basis, through use of our automated system, when their student’s lunch account falls below $25 or has a negative balance.  However, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure their students account is adequately funded.  Parent balance inquires can be made via Skyward Family Access anytime or by contacting the school office.
