The Washington State School for the Blind Board of Trustees is made up of ten (10) Board members (representing each congressional district) that are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. In addition, the Board includes five (5) ex-officio members representing the following organizations: parents, certificated staff, classified staff, and two blind consumer organizations (National Federation of the Blind of Washington, and the Washington Council of the Blind).

The Board of Trustees is an advisory board; by statue the Board meetings are held ‘at least quarterly’ (http://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=72.41.070). These are public meetings with the exception of those occasions when the Board meets in Executive Session. Board agendas and meeting minutes are posted on the WSSB website at www.wssb.wa.gov.
