WSSB is in the process of creating a strategic plan which will guide our agency for the next 3 years. Our intention is to foster a collaborative and inclusive process so that all key stakeholders have a voice in this process.
We have a small planning team comprised of members of our leadership team and board which has been working to draft key elements of this plan. Last month, we solicited input from all WSSB staff and Board members on the initial draft of our Strategic Vision Framework. Two key elements from this framework are WSSB’s Core Purpose and our 15-year aspirational ‘Big Goal’ which are as follows:
Core Purpose: To empower blind and visually impaired individuals to reach their full potential.
15-year Big Goal: Every blind and visually impaired student in Washington has the supports and services they need to succeed.
The next step is to solicit feedback from all of our internal and external stakeholders regarding our 3-year Strategic Goals. These goals define what, generally, we must accomplish in the next 3 years to be on track to achieve our 15-year Big Goal. Our planning team has drafted 3 strategic goals and we will be seeking your feedback. With our limited resources, it is imperative that we are focusing on the ‘critical few’ things that will move our agency in a positive direction with respect to our Big Goal. We will use this input to refine our near term goals and to develop objectives that will define our success in measurable terms.
We will continue to update this page as new information is created.
