DSB is proud to partner with the National Federation
of the Blind of Washington (NFBW) to offer special
youth driven content at NFBW’s Annual 2021 Virtual
Convention.


DSB and the NFBW have an entertaining program planned with many fun activities that promote leadership, social, and team building skills for youth and all participants. Planned activities include:
• Variety Show – submit your recorded audition of your talents for this activity


• TikTok Team Builder – team up with friends and create your own TikTok video to share your story.


• How Do You ??? When You’re Blind – a panel discussion and Q&A about weathering COVID-19,
sheltering in place, and going on with their daily lives as people with vision loss.


• And much more! Additional details to come.


All interested students and their families are welcome to learn, socialize, and have a great time with us via
Zoom. Bring your favorite snacks and join in! The National Federation of the Blind is the largest
and most influential membership organization of blind people in the United States. The NFB improves blind people’s lives through advocacy, education,
research, technology, and programs encouraging independence and self-confidence. The Annual NFBW Convention will also feature the Big Report of updates on state and national issues, resolutions, breakout sessions, an Exhibitor Spotlight, and much more!

Free! This event is free for visually impaired students in Washington State and their parents.

Deadline for registration and submission of recording for Variety Show is October 15. Register online at dsb.wa.gov/events.
