Why Give?

Your gracious gift will provide each blind or visually impaired person in Washington, State with the tools, skills and training necessary to give them confidence that anything they choose to do is possible.

Unrestricted general donations/gifts to the Foundation will be designated to the WSBF general fund.  These funds will be used for operations, projects, programs and grant requests. Restricted and unrestricted funds to the foundation are used to meet the unmet needs of blind and visually impaired students from throughout the state of Washington.

Here are 7 ways you can give:

2.     MAIL:  Complete the printable form (Word doc) and send it to:

3.     VISA/MASTER CARD: Use our safe and secure form to make an online gift. Either a one time donation or a convenient gift installment options by making monthly installments using your VISA.  Select the Donate Now link above.

4.     PARTICIPATE IN WSBF EVENTS:

6.     STOCK TRANSFER:  Use the following steps:

1. Step 1:

Contact Barbara Sheldon by phone (360-696-6321 ext 176 or email Barbara.sheldon@wsbf1.org to let us know you intend to gift stock; this will ensure timely processing of your gift.

2.     Step 2:

Contact your broker and ask them to process a donation by moving stock shares to the Washington School for the Blind Foundation account.

Note: Washington School for the Blind has an internal policy to sell stock immediately. Your broker will give you the high, low and mean price on the date of transfer of the gift for your tax purposes which will be the mean value times the shares, not the trade price.  

Washington School for the Blind Foundation does not render tax advisory services and recommends that you consult with your financial advisor when considering a gift of stock.

8.     BOARD OF DIRECTORS

You can help the Foundation by joining the Board of Directors. WSBF Board of Directors meets regularly at 12:00 to 1:30 PM (lunch) on the third Tuesday of each month, in the Washington State School for the Blind Board Room.
