Our History
The Washington School for the Blind Foundation was founded in 1995 as a Washington non-profit corporation. The Foundation is a tax exempt organization under 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The WSBF provides funds and support to persons, programs or projects that enhance educational and employment opportunities for visually impaired individuals. WSBF funds do not supplant State or Federal funds. The WSBF is governed by an independent, volunteer board of directors who serve without compensation. The WSBF is currently building a general endowment fund with the long-range purpose of making WSBF programs and projects self-supporting. WSBF's financial goal is that all gifts to the WSBF become perpetual.
