February 11, 2003
The Board meeting was called
to order at 7:30
p.m. Discussion was held regarding the first
release of the draft budget reduction document that was produced by the
administrative team. Concerns regarding the impact of the budget cuts were the
main topic of discussion. The Board
discussed the option put forth of closing one of the cottages on campus. The Board felt that this could be perceived
as a safety concern because of the vast difference in age groups within the
cottage. Dr. Stenehjem explained that
the range of ages were not that different; however the difference in
developmental stages were more prevalent.
Dr. Stenehjem will be sending the draft budget reduction plan to all
employees, parents, and consumer groups for their information and input. Dr. Stenehjem also asked the Board for any
additional budget reduction ideas.
There
being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
