July 13-18, 2008

A summer camp designed with the whole child in mind.

This free program is a week long focus on learning JAWS and the BrailleNote. Students will be given the opportunity to improve and develop technology skills broadening their knowledge base.

Technology

This session will improve the assistive technology skills of visually impaired students in grades 7th through 12th who are eligible to attend.

To attend students must currently be using JAWS and the BrailleNote.

Students will receive 3.5 hours of instruction per day on assistive technology skills. The primary focus of this class will be on using JAWS and the BrailleNote.

A checklist will be completed during the first session on each student’s assistive technology skills. This assessment will determine instruction for the rest of the week.

Learning how to use BookShare will be an essential part of this class. All students attending summer school will be required to arrive with an active BookShare account. BookShare is free for visually impaired students.
