FALL RECREATION

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas crafts with Bonda and Sandy in the Kennedy Building from 6:30 to 8pm Wednesday November 18, December 2 & 9.

Bingo is scheduled for December 16 from 6:30to 8pm.

Bowling is scheduled for Tuesday November 24 afterschool at Big Al’s.

I am looking for volunteers who would like to help with bingo and crafts and bowling.

WSSB’s 2010 Winter Sports Program:

Tuesday December 8, 2009 - Ski meeting in WSSB’s Cafeteria (Old Main Building) from 3:30-4:30 p.m.  Cover general information, dates, times, equipment, equipment rental form, clothing, as well as time for questions & answers.  Volunteers are welcome to attend, but not required.

January 14-February 18, 2010 – Students & volunteers (unless volunteers are driving themselves) will meet at 3:00 p.m. in rec. center. Volunteers assist students with their ski pants, hats, gloves and boots, and boarding the vans.  Lunches are handed out at this time to eat on the way to the mountain or wait until skiing is over.
When adverse weather conditions are reported to me, keeping in mind that on occasion weather conditions can turn badly in a short period of time, I will let folks know of weather related postponements.
Once at Meadows, we park in the handicap parking area; volunteers assist students to the equipment rental room helping them with helmets, safety vests, skies/boards, gloves, and poles. Lift tickets are purchased at this time ($30.00 per student, Volunteer’s are paid for by school). Lift tickets are distributed prior to going to the slopes by 6pm. We meet back at rental room or snack shack at 8pm.

Students are welcome to come in early/take breaks, sometimes opting to do both.  Volunteers stay with students at all times.  Students are welcome to purchase food items from the snack bar/cafeteria with their own money.  We leave at 8:30 p.m. and return to school about 10pm.

As a heads up, we will be going to Mount St Helens on February 25, 2010 for our annual snowmobiling event. Our overnight cross-country ski event is March 9 & 10, 2010.

Please phone me if you have any questions at (360) 696-6321 ext. 180 or email at adrienne.fernandez@wssb.wa.gov
Thanks for all you give to our school and programs.
Always,
A
